Unplanned networking: Building connections through code
25 March 2026 (Wednesday) | 18:30 – 21:00 UA TIME | Pwrteams (14 Uhorska St. Section 2, 4 fl.), Lviv (Ukraine)
Sometimes the most meaningful connections are the ones you never set out to build.
Join us for a story-driven session with Ihor Didyk, Senior Java Developer at Pwrteams Ukraine, where code, curiosity and a bit of healthy scepticism unexpectedly turned into a growing professional network.
This talk is not about “how to network better”. It’s about how visibility, craftsmanship and genuine technical interest can do the networking for you.
What we’ll explore:
-
The point of origin: How a simple preparation for a technical webinar unexpectedly set a much bigger journey in motion.
-
The artefact: The creation of “Polyglot without barriers” and why what seems like “just a demo” can become a powerful professional catalyst.
-
The reality check: Why technical scepticism is natural, how to respond to it constructively and how doubt can strengthen your ideas rather than weaken them.
-
The “interest loop”: How late-night curiosity and deep technical exploration evolved into an open-source library and what happens when passion becomes contribution.
-
Asynchronous networking: Why networking often happens not when you actively seek it, but when your work becomes visible and valuable to others.
-
Summary: How to let your code introduce you to people instead of introducing yourself first.
If you’re a developer who wants to let your work speak for itself and build connections naturally, don’t wait for networking to happen by chance. Join Ihor’s session, get fresh insights on turning technical contributions into visibility and leave with a clear understanding of how your code can introduce you to new opportunities and people.
Please note: the workshop will be held in Ukrainian.
