About the project
TUI, is a global business with over 70 000 people on board, great history and challenging plans for building a digital future. TUI is the largest leisure, travel and tourism company globally, and it owns travel agencies, hotels, airlines, cruise ships and retail shops.
Product & Engagement is a global team within TUI technology responsible for B2B Platforms within the Trips Programme. We are a multi-disciplinary team of experts across Architecture, Engineering, DevOps and Agile Delivery providing services across the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands.
What you'll do
- Create and maintain a state of the art web applications
- Follow and improve code quality standards
- Perform technical assessment of mockups/wireframes and architectural designs/specifications to ensure the possibility of their implementation within a reasonable time
- Create and review software feature design documents and provide the solution
- Contribute ideas through your knowledge of evolving front-end technologies
- Be proactive in communication with team members and clients
- Use industry best practices of development processes & tools, adopt, and improve them
- Mentorship of junior colleagues
- Problem solving, Solution Presentation, Meeting and Visual Facilitation
What we're looking for
- Strong expertise in JavaScript language (both ECMAScript and TypeScript) as well as its eco-system and tooling
- Experience with Node.js
- Familiarity with the Web Platform and its APIs, especially Custom Elements.·
- Familiarity with the concept of SSG
- Experience with consuming resource-oriented APIs (REST, GraphQL)
- Good experience with CI/CD, preferably Gitlab CI
- Strong problem-solving skills coupled with good communication skills.
- Demonstrating true software craftsmanship mindset
- Ability to design, build, test, and deploy applications.
- Expertise in cloud design, infrastructure as code, tools and services on AWS
- Good understanding of front-end delivery and performance aspects (infrastructure, HTTP protocol, etc.), analysis and optimisation.
- Profound knowledge of HTML, CSS/SCSS.
- Experience with at least two recent JavaScript frameworks
