About the project

TUI, is a global business with over 70 000 people on board, great history and challenging plans for building a digital future. TUI is the largest leisure, travel and tourism company globally, and it owns travel agencies, hotels, airlines, cruise ships and retail shops.

As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will be part of a cross functional team that is responsible for the delivery and operation of all E-commerce solutions and products.
You will design, build, test and deploy cloud native applications while applying modern engineering practices, a strong DevSecOps mindset and a customer centric approach. You’ll work in an international, multi cultural environment, collaborating closely with engineers across the domain and contributing to continuous improvement and technical excellence.

What you'll do

  • Contribute across the full software development lifecycle - from design to deployment
  • Own applications end to end within a cross functional or practice team
  • Build cloud native, high performing solutions using AWS services such as Lambda, CloudFront, EventBridge, ECS, DynamoDB and S3
  • Develop modern web interfaces using JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, and contemporary styling approaches
  • Implement and integrate RESTful APIs across client and server
  • Work with SQL, NoSQL and MySQL data persistence technologies
  • Build, maintain and automate CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Git
  • Optimize performance and ensure clean, scalable architectures with a high degree of automation
  • Research and evaluate new tools, processes and technologies and support teams in adopting them effectively

What we're looking for

  • Strong expertise with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js
  • Experience with at least one modern JavaScript framework (preferably Vue.js / Nuxt.js)
  • Deep knowledge of HTML5, CSS3/SCSS and UI/interaction design principles; familiarity with utility first frameworks such as Tailwind
  • Experience with C# and .NET or PHP and WordPress will be beneficial
  • Experience with RESTful API development and consumption
  • Hands on experience with AWS cloud services and cloud architecture patterns (Lambda, CloudFront, EventBridge, ECS, DynamoDB, S3)
  • Strong proficiency with Terraform
  • Good understanding of CI/CD, GitLab pipelines and automation workflows
  • Strong communication, problem solving and collaboration skills
  • Upper-intermediate level of written and spoken English
