The Role & The Team:
You will join an extension team (Data) of our client - News UK.
News UK is one of the leading media businesses in the UK and Ireland. Our newsbrands include The Times, The Sunday Times, The Sun, The Sun on Sunday and The TLS. Our national broadcast brands include talkSPORT, Times Radio, Talk and Virgin Radio UK, and we have market-leading local stations across Ireland. Our world-famous brands provide news, analysis, opinion and entertainment to almost 40 million people each month. Spanning print and pixel, audio and video, events and experiences, our multi-format brands are home to a plurality of opinion, representing the diverse communities we serve. News UK is wholly owned by News Corp.
News UK is building a specialist, multi-talented team of web and app engineers to improve data collection across its range of digital products. Working with internal and external product development teams, the newly formed team will look to review, revise and implement the delivery of a new data collection approach to record user and app behaviour across all digital products. This will involve actively reviewing existing code bases and rewriting data integrations to match the new standard.
This is an extremely high-profile project. News UK is a highly data-driven organisation and relies heavily on the data that it collects to inform business decisions and drive AI initiatives such as personalisation and content recommendation. Our products contain a high degree of complexity and as such, this new team of engineers will need to be able to communicate effectively with other product developers, be comfortable performing deep dives into unfamiliar code bases, and propose/implement effective solutions that will pass the PRs of senior engineers of other teams.
