The Role

You will join an extension team of our client - WeShop.

WeShop is a community-owned social network that combines shopping with social media, has trusted Pwrteams to lay the foundations and grow their development team in Bulgaria. WeShop is a referral platform that offers the functionalities of social media and allows its users to shop for products from over 500 major retailers (with more added on a weekly basis) while earning shares in the company.

The innovative social-commerce platform was launched in the UK in 2022 and aims to list on the Nasdaq tech-heavy index in New York and launch in the US in the first quarter of 2025.

What you'll do

We're looking for an Android Engineer to continue the work of maintaining, optimising, and adding new features to an exciting social-commerce mobile application. You'll be an active part of a friendly team of engineers, working alongside backend engineers and testers and with lots of opportunities to interact with the full range of professional experts involved in the planning, design, and operation of our product.\
 
We particularly need skilled, experienced developers with an eye for code quality, performance, and testability. But we also want you to really care about the final product and to be willing to put all of your skills and effort into creating the perfect experience for all our customers with an Android device.
 

What we're looking for

  • Experience in native Android application development and its best practices
  • Deep knowledge of the latest Kotlin versions and the best use cases of the language
  • Knowledge of Kotlin advanced features like coroutines and Flow
  • Knowledge of Android framework advanced functionalities like Jetpack Compose
  • Knowledge of Gradle build system
  • Expertise in the Android ecosystem (Android Studio, SDK, Firebase App Distribution, Google Play production, and internal tester lanes, etc.)
  • Knowledge of architectural patterns
  • Love for quality and performance, and the ability to think from a user's perspective
  • Capability to estimate work and commit to deadlines as necessary
  • Capability to process and prioritise tasks depending on business needs
  • Willingness to constantly and openly communicate within the team and with the wider business
  • Previous experience with code reviews and Agile/Scrum development methodologies

Brownie points:

  • Knowledge of Android persistence frameworks such as Room
  • Previous experience with Travis/Fastlane and capability to work with CI
  • Knowledge of Jetpack + AndroidX
  • A public git of personal Android projects that can be shared with us
